Orientation Information
Congratulations on your admission to Mercy College!
Our commitment to help you succeed begins the minute you step on campus. The goal of Orientation is to ease your transition to Mercy College. The team is planning for your arrival and is excited to assist you during this transitional time. Please use this site to the fullest and make sure you have read and completed all the steps and documents listed below. This is your first step to graduating from Mercy College. Take this preparation seriously! Students who do not complete steps accurately and thoroughly will be delayed during academic advising and registration.
STEP 1: CONFIRMATION OF ATTENDANCE
The first thing you need to do to prepare for orientation is fill out a matriculation sheet and return it to Mercy College. The purple matriculation sheet was included in your acceptance packet. The matriculation form and $60 reservation fee must be mailed to Mercy College to reserve your clinical space in the program. Return the form and $60 reservation fee to Mercy College, Youngstown Site, ATTN: Darnell Irvine, 1044 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44501. The fee and form are due before students are able to reserve a space for orientation and, if required, COMPASS assessment. Students will receive a postcard as a confirmation that Mercy College received the completed form and $60 reservation fee. For your convenience the form can be found below:

STEP 2: COMPASS ASSESSMENT
Review your admission letter to determine if you are required to take the COMPASS test.
Students who need to complete the COMPASS assessment will be notified of this in their acceptance letter. This assessment will be administered at the Youngstown site and must be taken prior to June 1, 2011. Admitted students should cautiously note that testing into remedial course work could delay enrollment into Mercy College and the nursing program.
To schedule COMPASS, call Darnell Irvine at 330-480-3823 to request a time between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you have not completed the required assessment, you will not be able to register for classes. Additional information regarding COMPASS is included below:

Students must call Darnell Irvine at 330-480-3823 or email youngstown@mercycollege.edu to request an orientation session (morning or afternoon cohort). Please note the importance of scheduling your orientation session early as there is limited space at each session. Students who do not register for orientation will not be permitted to attend. Please note that orientation is only for admitted/matriculated Mercy College students and not guests as spacing is limited.
